RSC Istanbul office, which was established in 2015 to provide social, legal and economic improvement services to asylum seekers, migrants, refugees and those who demand international protection that work for garment companies, has reached more than 200 beneficiaries by the end of 2016. RSC has assisted these workers to obtain their legal civil and working rights in Turkey.
The remediation plans are designed by visiting the workers at their actual work place, and assessing the improvement needs, including work and living conditions in Turkey.
We strive to ensure temporary protection status and work permit and international protection rights as appropriate to the workers’ situation to allow them to reach fundamental legal rights.
RSC staff oversees all legal application processes and initiate work permit applications when workers obtain legal residence status.
In addition to these legal processes, RSC organizes Turkish language lessons and Refugee Rights seminar in line with workers’ needs. Turkish and Refugee Rights courses are an essential part of the remediation plans to improve both social and work conditions of the refugees to empower them to freely express themselves.
